103 year old lens video

I have a Wollensak Cine-Velostigmat 1.5 lens from the 1930-1940's. Wollensak was a US manufacturer of lenses for still and film camera's. I still have to do a proper video with my antique lens and really got inspired by this well-done clip shot with a Canon 5D Mark II and a 1908(!) Wollensak Cine-Velostigmat f5 lens.

Mailbox: OEM LP-E6 batteries

I received my much-awaited LP-E6 clones today, for which I paid express shipping so I can use my SmallHD DP4 during my stay here in the States this month. I paid $30,- for 2 batteries including travel charger, car charger and express shipping.
The batteries do not display information to the camera but since I am solely using them for my monitor, I don't need that function. And I hate to pay for something I don't use.
These batteries are 2200 MAh, which I believe is more than the standard Canon 1800 mAh and I confirm that they work ;-) The question is, of course, for how long. Time will tell.
For now they power up my DP4 and I've had the pleasure to shoot some video with the battery-powered monitor, my GH2 and my new Super-Takumar 50mm 1.4. I love this lens already- will post footage tomorrow!

Philip Bloom compares Sony FS100, Panasonic AF100 and Sony F3

A real world comparison, shooting out on the streets. Just two guys (and a girl, I believe) and their camera's. And they brought their Canon 5D Mark II as well. I like this type of testing so much more than scientific charts. After all you just want to see what your camera produces in certain circumstances, not how it behaves in theory.  This is part 1 of the test.

Ik had een paar dagen geleden een stukje geschreven over de gratis filters en hoe mensen het leuk vinden om anderen te helpen en hun vondsten te delen, toen ik een stukje las over een wanhopige -Nederlandse- filmer die ten einde raad was omdat zijn klant al het materiaal had afgekeurd dat hij gedraaid had met de Canon 5D Mark II. Reden: moiré. Dit kleine sprookje geeft precies aan waar ik het over had: de essentie van het internet, mensen die kennis delen, elkaar belangeloos helpen.
